Channeling the spirit of adventure, Uncharted fragrance oil pays homage to rugged explorers in far off places. Top notes of fresh grass and bergamot rest on chilly air created by notes of eucalyptus and balsam. A strong base of leather and patchouli evoke the creak of worn saddles and rich earth.

For sports, the heart notes of leather and grass make this scent perfect for all your football-themed events.

This fragrance is infused with natural essential oils including patchouli, eucalyptus, cypress, juniper, linseed, fir balsam, orange sweet, olibanum.

Blends well with: Lavender Embers, Sunwashed, Tulip Fields, Solar Petals and Tangerine

LEATHER WOODSMAN IN A BOTTLE
MELYSG 2025-09-22

UNCHARTED- MY OBSERVATIONS:
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL & THIS IS SOLELY MY NOSE AND EVALUATION
I have so many fragrances at this point and i want to become more experienced in the art of blending and creating my own unique fragrances, so im going back to the basics. Conducting a perfumer profile of every fragrance or essential oil i own, training up my nose and understanding to become better equipped and knowledgable in the art and science of perfumery.

Uncharted was the fragrance I chose to begin with. It should be noted my fragrance profiles are always conducted with perfume blotter strips. SMELLING SOMETHING ONLY out of the bottle , is not how perfumers do it, and is not the best way to really get an understanding of the way a fragrance evolves over time.

The breakdown of my impressions, over time:
IMMEDIATE IMPRESSION:
Strong aquatic watery notes, smoky and masculine, sharp, earthy with hints of citrus.
Masculine, deep, smoky and smells expensive
AFTER 15 MINUTES:
sharp , cedar notes, definitely aquatic and watery, with green leaves and touches of ozone.
Smoky initial impression seems to be fading
New notes detected: green leafy bitters, with some moss and herbaceous aromatics; giving off an outdoor woodsman vibe
AFTER 30 MIN:
Sharp, earthy like soil, detect some musk type possibly olibanum, citrus around the corners with aquatic notes still very present
Detecting new notes: possibly cedar, vetiver, maybe some balsam. Dry like vibe.
AFTER 2 HOURS:
Spicy, smokey, olibanum quality
Can now detect that leather like scent; makes me think of warmed in the sun horse saddle straps
Very deep, masculine, like fores meets woods, incense & leather straps; getting an oak barrel type visual with depth and smokey earth and some warmth as it dries down
AFTER 4-5 HOURS:
The aquatic notes seem to dance with the leather and resinous notes
Still sharp, biting kind of “woodyness” , detecting a bitter citrus tang around the edges
Imagery is strong regal balsam woods drenched in water; like a night in the forest after a hard rain
AFTER 8 HOURS:
SORRY fell asleep and missed this scent “session” LOL
AFTER 24 HOURS:
THE DRY DOWN: grassy green, strong of leather notes with the aquatic dance and a soft smokey finish
Detecting more in your face sharp cedar; like freshly sharpened pencil or pencil shavings
Very masculine like a timber cutting tree man
FINAL THOUGHTS: using it as a blender to elevate or give depth to other fragrances; may try adding warming notes to see how that behaves; possibly using citrus like yuzu or lime to see if it brightens it up a bit; even wondered how it would pair with some real vanilla to soften it a bit…
Overall this is my NOSE Impression if you will, of UNCHARTED. I hope this helps someone.
*** I SHOULD MAKE MENTION: all of my scent descriptions were UNBIASED as i DID NOT use the description listed here on the website until AFTER the 4 hour mark. This is a challenge I'm doing specifically to train my nose and see what I can pick up BEFORE I reference what notes the supplier is stating are in the fragrance.

Love it as blending element

This FO might be too much on its own, but I find that it's the perfect blending partner for many types of scents, especially lavender.

One of my new favorites

This smells like wet stone in the best way. It’s elevated earthy and aquatic scent. I’ve used it in coconut wax and also made perfume.

LOVE IT

This has to be my personal favorite to come out from candle science so far. It's a perfect balance of earthiness, cool eucalyptus, and subtle leather. It's such a a soothing scent even when I keep the candle unlit on my desk. I feel this will be a best seller.
