Leather and Labdanum Fragrance Oil
Choose a Variant

Step into a realm of dark sophistication with Leather and Labdanum fragrance oil. Bewitching top notes of bergamot and spicy cloves unfold into a heart of labdanum, complemented by a hint of herbaceous lavender and rose petals. Base notes of luxurious leather, sweet tobacco leaves, and seductive amber envelop the senses in an earthy sweetness.

We recommend using this alluring fragrance in candles, melts, and tarts—or create a line of sophisticated soaps, scrubs, or lotion. It’s also approved for reed diffuser base and is an ideal scent to create a warm atmosphere.

What is labdanum? Labdanum is an aromatic resin used in the perfume industry and a vegan alternative to infamous ambergris–an ingredient once collected from sperm whales. It’s a luxurious note all on its own with leathery, animalistic, and musky notes.

This fragrance is infused with natural essential oils including patchouli, linseed, and cade.

Blends well with: Moonflower Nectar, Beachwood, Mountain Mist

Alternative branding ideas: Midnight Leather, Smoke and Mirrors, Warm Leather

Luxury

Wow, I really love this scent. It is reminiscent of a rich tobacco and leather scent. It is so luxurious and masculine at the same time. I don't really know what labdanum smells like but I love anything leather. This one has to be my favorite.

Effing fabulous

I have searched far and wide for a rich, smoldering tobacco/leathery succulent dark smell to no avail. Reminds me of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon. I don’t smell much bourbon but that’s just the name of the fragrance it smells most like to me. I am NEVER into heavy smells. Or too fruity or too spicy as my nose cannot handle much heaviness but the leather and tobacco cuts down on the sweet and the sweet cuts down on the hard leather tobacco smell. It to me is everything every other leather/tobacco fragrance has tried to achieve but failed to do so. It is just the right blend of sweet and Smokey/leathery. Smells like a rich woman in the Hamptons but not the elder one. Want to make your line Lux? Def pick this one up. I disagree with the review saying you’d have to dilute etc or it’s a waste of product bc they had to cut it down, bc as I said I have a very strong sense of smell and I adore this fragrance. If anyone would think it is too strong it would most definitely be me.

Exquisite

This one is SO good. This is distinct from the other CS leather scent which is more rustic. It's more of an "exclusive leather handbag with a waiting list" vibe. It reminds me of Tom Ford's Ombre Leather but better because the rose note just elevates it. I tried it with Rose & Oud on blotter strips and it's so good it made me swear out loud. You could go the "naughty" route with branding but I think it also works for "wealth." To quote Nick Miller, "I think I understand hunting."

Only try this if you like the leather fragrance

This is a close fragrance to leather so beware. It is one that could maybe be used for mixing; unlike leather that I cannot get anyone to want to buy even after mixing with vanilla or bourbon fragrances (I still have a bunch of that on the shelf expiring).
I would need to spend time diluting it with other floral or sweet fragrances to see if it has any hope but it’s not worth my time or potential wasted product so, I will pass on going any further than a test candle. It’s definitely an odd one to release this time of year as well.
