Perfect for beginner and experienced candle makers alike, IGI 6046 Coconut/Paraffin Blend Wax is an ideal wax for container candles. It offers the excellent scent throw of paraffin with the slow burn of coconut wax with no additional additives necessary. Just add fragrance and dye.

Featuring a bright white hue, IGI 6046 provides a great canvas for bright, true colors from dyes when compared to other vegetable wax blends. The excellent glass adhesion of this wax makes it ideal for clear and transparent containers.

IGI 6046 is a very soft wax that is packaged in 10 lb bags. We recommend using latex or nitrile gloves to make working with the wax a little easier.

Candle Maker's Notes:
Paraffin waxes tend to have darker soot over soy when burning. If you're experiencing excessive soot, we recommend testing different wick sizes, or double wicking in larger containers (3.3"/8.4 cm diameter or larger). Additionally, too much fragrance oil can also cause sooting depending on the fragrance oil. We’ve found that reducing fragrance load to 6%-8% is plenty strong for most fragrances and helps to minimize shooting.

IGI 6046 Coconut/Paraffin Blend Wax

For those that are having wick issues, I’m having really great results with this wax and the premiere wicks. No mushrooms or soot and the CT and HT with this wax is superb. It’s so pretty too. Very user friendly. I’m actually liking it better than 6006, but I don’t use it as much because of the price difference. Good luck folks.

Soot
Gabrielle 2023-10-16

Overall I love using this wax and find good CT and HT. My only complaint is the soot. I use CD wicks as listed with this wax and the right number per measurement but the Soot is crazy!!!! I feel really discouraged at this point in trying to fix that problem😩😩

Still trying to find the right wick
WP23 2023-06-10

Using the Nordic 3-wick ceramic jar (4" inside diameter), 10% fragrance load - Himalayan bamboo, using recommended starting point CD4, you will burn thru this candle very fast, have soot, and a very hot container. Using 2 wicks CD4, still too hot. 3-wicks CD3 still too hot. you achieve a full met pool in 1-1/2 hrs, but it will get to 1-1/2" deep. After much research trying CDN3 x 3, it's much better (ran out of Himalayan bamboo so trying rose oud 10%), the container is definitively not as hot, but I still think is burning too fast. The pool is 1-1/4" deep after 2 hours. I'm getting no soot thought, which is great. Neither of the three candles have a great hot throw. But among the 3 test, the CDN-3 X 3 is definitively the winner in all parameters. I'll write back once I test triple wick CDN 2. I might also try double wick CDN 3, and maybe a lower fragrance load. If I get to the right wick with a good hot throw, I'll bump rating to 5. The wax is easy to work with, I never gotten a sink hole in any of my tests and beautiful smooth tops. Note I cured the candles 3-4 weeks, with the bamboo lid on, at room temp. Note I'm a beginner hobbyist (but doo have a strong chemistry background)
