If we had to pick one wax for all makers of any experience level, CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax is it. Through extensive research and testing, our lab has developed a user-friendly, single-pour container wax that makes it easier to achieve the strong hot throw and smooth tops found in luxury candles. And, the cure time is just one to two days!

This wax features the ability to create multi-wick candles in containers with diameters as small as 3.25”, which elevates both the aesthetic and fragrance intensity of your candle line while minimizing your costs. Learn more about how to calculate your costs in our article on How to Price Your Candles.

Benefits

  • Luxury apricot wax blend
  • Elevated multi-wick aesthetic
  • Single-pour with smooth tops
  • Excellent hot throw
  • Minimal frosting
  • Good color retention
  • Enhanced UV protection

Our custom blend of apricot, coconut, and soy includes a UV additive that protects candles from yellowing and dyed candles from fading due to light exposure. Our formulation minimizes frosting, allows for bolder use of color, and the inclusion of paraffin is key to this wax’s strong fragrance throw.

Candle Maker's Notes
A unique feature of this wax is that a traditional melt pool, where the wax is fully melted to the edge of the container, isn’t necessary. As long as the wax continues to melt and slide into the wax, the wax will be fully utilized.

See our lab notes for details on how to conduct your burn testing.

1 lb Heat-Safe Bags
Our proprietary wax is offered in 1 lb heat-safe, BPA-free bags for testing. No metal pouring pitcher is needed.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Too much soot with a single wick? Try double- or triple-wicking with smaller wicks. Containers with diameters larger than 3.25” will likely need more than one wick.
  • Wet spots? Warm your jars before pouring your wax and/or pour your wax at a warmer temperature.
  • Visible striations or layers in your dyed candles? Pour the wax at a slightly warmer temperature.
  • Trying to find the right wick for your CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax candles? Our Wick Guide will help get your testing started.

Great hot throw for some scents
DeeDee 2024-08-29

I love this wax, the clean burn, and the hot & cold throw. Cinnamon stick, Spiced honey, and Tonka, Ginger & Spice give amazing hot & cold throws. The Apple harvest, not so much. I make embeds out of this delicate wax but it was possible.

A Little Confused
Kathy Rowney 2024-08-25

I loved this wax when it first came out, the fact that you pour once and it is a perfect candle with no fixes. I have been testing and making and pouring since it came out. I narrowed down wicks and fragrances and made multiple jar batches for the first time and bam, sink holes. I have done nothing different than the whole time i was testing. I have tried to figure out what could possibly be different and I have come up with nothing. I made 16 candles this weekend and had to make relief holes and remelt the top to everyone. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to continue using this. I am just hoping that the CT and HT are still there.

Absolutely love it

I absolutely love this new wax. It has such a smooth texture and greatly improves hot throw over the soy 464. And for the most important thing, my wife loves it for the same reasons. I am not a reseller, I just make candles for my wife because she likes fragrances to be much stronger than most 'store bought' candles - plus I can make them cheaper than buying them. The bags that the wax comes in is also genius in that it has a poor spout and a slider-seal so you can melt the wax and mix the fragrance, and then pore straight from the bag instead of using something other container.

LOVE!!!

I usually work with IGI 6006, which I absolutely love, but I decided to give the coconut apricot wax a try, and I’m thrilled with the results. First of all, wow—these candles look stunning right after pouring! The cold throw is incredible, and I’m eagerly anticipating how the hot throw will turn out. Snagged a pound and can we just please talk about how incredibly convenient and easy it was to just double boil With the wax in the bag, I would literally pay extra for the 6006 to come this way! Anyway, if you are skeptical about trying it, do it!
