If we had to pick one wax for all makers of any experience level, CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax is it. Through extensive research and testing, our lab has developed a user-friendly, single-pour container wax that makes it easier to achieve the strong hot throw and smooth tops found in luxury candles. And, the cure time is just one to two days!

This wax features the ability to create multi-wick candles in containers with diameters as small as 3.25”, which elevates both the aesthetic and fragrance intensity of your candle line while minimizing your costs. Learn more about how to calculate your costs in our article on How to Price Your Candles.

Benefits

  • Luxury apricot wax blend
  • Elevated multi-wick aesthetic
  • Single-pour with smooth tops
  • Excellent hot throw
  • Minimal frosting
  • Good color retention
  • Enhanced UV protection

Our custom blend of apricot, coconut, and soy includes a UV additive that protects candles from yellowing and dyed candles from fading due to light exposure. Our formulation minimizes frosting, allows for bolder use of color, and the inclusion of paraffin is key to this wax’s strong fragrance throw.

Candle Maker's Notes
A unique feature of this wax is that a traditional melt pool, where the wax is fully melted to the edge of the container, isn’t necessary. As long as the wax continues to melt and slide into the wax, the wax will be fully utilized.

See our lab notes for details on how to conduct your burn testing.

1 lb Heat-Safe Bags
Our custom wax is offered in 1 lb heat-safe, BPA-free bags for testing. No metal pouring pitcher is needed.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Too much soot with a single wick? Try double- or triple-wicking with smaller wicks. Containers with diameters larger than 3.25” will likely need more than one wick.
  • Wet spots? Warm your jars before pouring your wax and/or pour your wax at a warmer temperature.
  • Visible striations or layers in your dyed candles? Pour the wax at a slightly warmer temperature.
  • Trying to find the right wick for your CandleScience Coconut Apricot Wax candles? Our Wick Guide will help get your testing started.

I am blown away!

I do not understand the negative reviews. I purchased this wax, followed the instructions and used strawberries and cream FO. I used the 3 wick tumbler jar, 2 oz of fo per lb and let it cure 24 hours. HOLY MOLY. I lit my candle and within 30 minutes my bedroom was fully immersed in fragrance. it was so strong I had to move it into the livingroom where it filled that space too, along with my kitchen, and even going upstairs. I did test with 2 different types and sizes of wicks. my second burn witht he larger wicks had a tiny bit of black ring around the melt pool but my smaller wicks did not do that. Both however created an amazing hot throw. I am not sure what the other candlemakers are doing wrong but Candlescience is doing something RIGHT with this one. Keep it up!

Easy to use
Danielle 2025-02-16

This wax is super easy to use and always looks beautiful. My only concern is to why there is paraffin in it. I love that Candle Science sells clean oils and clean waxes and that's why I typically use the 464 soy. I bought this wax initially to try it out and because of the positive reviews and absolutely loved how much easier and more consistent it was than 464, only after to realize it had paraffin in it. CS, please come out with this same exact wax but with no paraffin and maybe something a little cleaner that can help with the smoothness. That being said I love Candle Science and appreciate your continued innovations and concoctions that allow us to make beautiful candles that smell AMAZING!

Scent Issue
Beauty Try 2025-02-12

Hello lovely CS,

Let me start with the positive, this wax is seamless and so beautiful. It takes colors well and it is simply beautiful!

I recently purchased this wax, I did 8oz candles using 1oz CS FO, 16oz candles using 2oz CS FO, I can barely smell the scents of my candles. I used another wax before from Amazon with the same % of CS FO and they are amazing. Can you tell me what I did wrong with this new wax? I did a bulk order and now I can’t use them. Please help.
