A salty ocean breeze with a hint of mystique, Sel de Mer fragrance oil bottles its namesake—a complex, mineral-rich sea salt. Bordering on a spa fragrance, cardamom and orange peel top notes balance a rich heart of sea salt resting on an aquatic base of palm, light musk, and amber.

Candles, wax melts, and tarts made with this fragrance oil will set an atmosphere of salty ocean waves lapping the shore. Soap, lotion, and scrubs will transport you to memories of deep relaxation on sun-warmed beaches.

This fragrance is infused with essential oils, including cardamom, clove, and orange.

Blends well with: Vetiver, Cashmere Plum, Orange BlossomSolar Sands, Butterscotch and Bourbon, Sparkling Negroni

Alternative branding ideas: Sea Salt Breeze, Sea Salt Oasis, Salt Cave

Suggested Colors: Light Blue, Tan

Lye Water Temperature 115ºF (46.1°C)
Oil Temperature 109ºF (42.8°C)

We experienced a moderate amount of acceleration but no separation. After the oils and water slowly came to an emulsion we switched to alternating between a single pulse of the stick blender and hand-stirring until we reached a light trace. We immediately did a second test to confirm trace and found it was at a thick trace. The batter remained workable and it poured smoothly into the mold without stiffening. After 24 hours, we observed there was very little discoloration and the soap reached a partial gel. The scent was quite strong and true to the out-of-bottle character. After 30 days, the soap had a very slight yellow discoloration, we only noticed it when compared to an unscented bar. The scent was still strong but a little smoother and well-balanced. We’d recommend adding this fragrance at a light trace and plan to work quickly with a simple design.

Upscale Sea Minerals
Sage The Scent Company 2024-05-25

In comparison to CS Sea Minerals, this fragrance is a more powerful standalone. It's SO good all by itself. It's gives a smooth, salty experience. So many CS FOs are wonderful, but there have been a handful that make go "oooooh" (Cedarwood Blanc, Sea Salt & Orchid for ex) lol Best way to describe it is 'upscale beach' vibes. I did prefer Sea Minerals when mixing, but I would definitely recommend Sel de Mer for a standalone scent. IMO it could be used for a year round scent.

I love this fragrance, it is so refreshing! It was one of the first fragrances that I used to create a candle.

Used this as a sample and now I want to buy a whole bottle! This may be my spring scent - or all year. I am not a fan of too-strong fragrances, and this is not overwhelming. It's nice and light and refreshing.
