Product Notice: This fragrance has been retired. However, we have two great alternatives we think you’ll love: Tonka and Oud or Santal and Coconut.

Mahogany Shea fragrance oil wraps you in a warm blanket of earthy woods and creamy shea. A top note of sweet almond gives way to the slight nutty aromas of shea and coconut. Natural woody notes of sandalwood and cedar are smoothed out with light musk and tonka bean base notes. The final result is a fragrance that’s warm, cozy, and beautiful all year round.

Create soft, inviting candles and reed diffusers for any space with this scent. Mahogany Shea is also an exceptionally soothing fragrance in soaps, lotions, and body care creations.

This fragrance is infused with natural essential oils, including cedarwood, cedar leaf, patchouli, and olibanum.

Blends well with: Lavender, Mango and Coconut Milk, Tonka and Oud, Spiced Honey and Tonka, Blood Orange, Golden Hour

Alternative branding ideas: Oatmeal Shea, Sandalwood and Shea, White Musk and Cedar

Suggested colors: Ivory

Lye Water Temperature 111ºF (43.9°C)
Oil Temperature 113ºF (45°C)

We experienced a very slight acceleration but no separation. Once we added the lye water to the fragranced oils and hand stirred a few times, a light emulsion was created. Based on this we expected more acceleration with the stick blender but it very slowly came to a light trace; we continued to stick blend to a medium trace. The batter stayed nice and fluid and did not start to thicken as we poured into the mold. Overall the fragrance was easy to work with, but we would recommend bringing your batter to a very light trace before adding fragrance to avoid a possible false trace. After 24 hours the soap had discolored a light tan shade and almost reached a full gel. We observed a large amount of glycerin rivers throughout the bars which gave them a very unique look. The scent was nice and strong with a slightly nutty character. After 30 days the soap had discolored to a pale yellow shade and the scent was subtle but had a sweet nutty character that is very pleasant.

KEEP THIS FRAGRANCE!
Taylor 2024-09-12

I am absolutely devastated that this has been discontinued. Please, please, please, keep this scent. I used it for my best-selling soap bars along with my candles. It has become a favorite amongst customers and is a staple for my business. I tried the alternatives that you suggested, and they are NOTHING...and I mean NOTHING...like this fragrance. Absolutely disheartening. Just look at the other reviews! What are you doing, Candle Science?!?!?!?!

CS you don’t understand your customer base

Honestly I’m pretty fed up with this company. I’ve been developing my candle/soap lines apart from cosmetics (not FO’s) and I bought into this company at great expense. I don’t use one FO but many to make blends like many people. When 1 discontinues it’s simply a waste of material. After spending so long on wicking and scent formulas, at least working with EO’s and true perfumery it’s only seasonality in harvest that may change rather than marketing shifts. I worked in fashion almost my whole career and this wastefulness is everything that doesn’t make sense about the throw away culture of new collections every season. How many people actually have enough time to try these scents out.

It’s interesting too, this line of elements. This was my suggestion in an email for making something constant, single note like in perfumery. If nothing else CS you’ve refined my business. I’ll put in future orders for things I’ve already tested but I see myself in custom territory after this. It’s very clear I can’t count on this company anymore. Not sustainable in any sense of the word.

Former deep lover of CS.

DEVESTATED

It seems lots of us are in a literal panic to hear this has been discontinued. Is it just simply a decision or is it an unforeseen supply issue that absolutely cannot be fixed? Either way, as I see from the reviews, many of us are feeling the same way. We work our tails off to create a labor of love and then it's all destroyed. Don't make us resent you Candle Science! The suggested replacements aren't even close. Can we at least be assured that a decent replacement is in the works? Others are right, it makes me scared to love an oil and rely heavily on it and then have this happen.

Please say "Just Kidding"
This is apart of my best-seller! 2024-07-29

I've literally have ordering 4oz bottles here and there to build a stockpile but this won't even carry me to the end of the year. Please say that this a simply a joke or mistake because there are so many other candle makers who love and enjoy this scent like myself. Please make this right CandleScience.

Disappointed 2024-07-25

The replacements are nothing close to what mahogany shea is, and as my best selling candle saying i am disappointed does not even begin to cover it. So sad and disappointing.. now to try and order as much as i can afford to save my line
