Olfactive Description: Aromatic, Camphor, Sweet, Slightly Woody

An aromatic and camphorous essential oil, Eucalyptus is often used to promote relaxation. Eucalyptus wood is used by the paper industry, which discards leaves and twigs. Instead of allowing this material to go to waste, this by-product is gathered and steam distilled into pure essential oil. In blends, this essential oil is often used as a top note.

We recommend Eucalyptus essential oil for use in candles, reed diffusers, wax melts, and tarts. Make your own line of spa-inspired bath and body products like bar soap, liquid soap, lotion, and scrubs.

Candle Maker’s Notes:
We’ve found that Eucalyptus essential oil has a strong hot throw in candles, rating three leaves out of three on our soy performance scale. This essential oil is definitely a top performing essential oil in candle making, making it perfect for those who want to curate a 100% all-natural line.

Blends Well With: Cedarwood (Virginian), Lavender (Bulgaria), and Peppermint

Lye Water Temperature 110ºF (43.3°C)

We did not experience any acceleration or separation. We stick blended to a medium trace, and the batter poured smoothly into the mold. After 24 hours, the scent was mild and there was no discoloration. We did not observe any sign of the soap going into a gel phase. After 30 days the scent had faded but was still distinguishable. Compared to our unscented sample, there was a slight yellow discoloration.

Makes A Great Candle
Judy 2024-01-24

Used this in coconut wax in a 4 ounce tin. It has really good hot throw. Going to make 2 more candles, one with the dark patchouli and one with lavender. Happy to add these to my line.

Same EO, Different Product
Lindsey 2024-01-22

I mixed Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Cedarwood EO from CS at a 3:3:1 ratio (I just wanted the Cedarwood to round out the blend) in cold processed soap. At first, the Eucalyptus genuinely overpowered and muted the other two EOs for the first 48-hours, but as soon as I unmolded the soap and sliced it, OH BOY was it exactly how I was hoping it would smell.

After some cure time, the scent is still just as strong as when I sliced my soap. I can't wait to put these bars on my website.

The Jury is Still Out

I have been using White Eucalyptus FO for M&P Soaps and my customers love it. I thought I’d try the EO. It’s so different from the FO that I’m not sure my customers will love it. This has such a medicinal quality to it. I think I’m going to have to blend it with Peppermint EO in order to sell it.

Eucalyptus EO
Lindsey 2023-05-17

Very true to life eucalyptus EO! It works really well on its own in a diffuser or room spray and as a blender. My favorite blends with this is with lavender and cedarwood and another 50/50 blend with peppermint. The second blend smells exactly like CS's peppermint and eucalyptus FO.

I'm interested to blend this with either lush linen or linen deodorizer to make a soft, clean room spray for my house.
