We experienced a slight amount of acceleration but no separation. Initially, this was very slow to form a stable emulsion. Once an emulsion had formed the batter quickly progressed from a light trace to a medium trace. The batter remained fluid and did not stiffen. The soap poured smoothly into the mold. After 24 hours, we observed the soap only reached a partial gel and the outer edges discolored to a light tan while the inside remained a pale yellow. The scent was very strong with the spice and tobacco notes really standing out. After 30 days, the soap had discolored to tan and the scent had faded a bit but became more balanced. If the fragrance is hand-stirred in at a light trace more detailed designs may be achieved.

Another Opinion

The scent wasn't something I wasn't expected either, I don't smell any floral from the scent. But it does have a bit of spice in the beginning. I would use this scent as a finisher or the beginning of the scent to round it off towards the end. That's what I plan to do with Black Moss and Amber. So the scent is completed and has depth. It's still a good scent on it's own.

not what it appears to be

I expected this to blow me out of the carribean water. I assumed it would be some woodsy tropical scent. I was so wrong. OOB it is not pleasant. All I smelled upon first wiff was yucky powder. I was greatly dissappointed. and for month I tried to smell the other smells described, but all i could smell was powder. I cant stand the smell of powder in products. But later I finally began to smell the woods, ever so slightly, so finally I would decide to put this to the test. Used in 464 at 10 percent, and boy was it strong. so strong it would give me a headache if I had to be around it burning for too long. I only made a few of these in the batch, to avoid it if it was a no go. I picked up the candle just the other day and to my surprise, it has a strong CT, and finally it has melded appropriately into the wax i feel (after 6 months tho) and I can smell the spicy smokey wood and teak. I actually think burning it will be very heavenly and not show up too powdery. I think if i'd decreased the percentage maybe to 8 or 6, perhaps the woods and masculine would stick out more. Over all i was surprised I actually like this alot. no it isnt my favorite, but it def has it's own unique twist to teakwood and the carribean and if youre looking for out of the box, pick up a smaller size and try it out. It isn't something you can find easily.

Doesn’t smell like the listed ingredients

I don’t smell wood. I smell powder. With OOB WITH CT AND HT. However , I have candles that have been made a while ago and I noticed the smell is better but I still smell powder. I do not smell leather at any point in its journey but I do smell more woods the longer it cures. I use 100% soy.

Smells amazing, but it took me time to understand. The smell differs significantly OOB from what it is meant to be. Very versatile and charming!

This doesn't come through strong enough in soap or candles for me but it does GREAT in wax melts for some reason!! We can smell it for days in our wax melt warmer!!
