This is THE ONE. I've have been on the hunt for the perfect petrichor fragrance oil. ALL the others I've tried, both cheaper brands and the pricey popular brands, never quite hit the nail on the head, regardless of the promises written in their descriptions and the praise from several reviewers. They were ALL either too floral, too clean, too fresh, too perfumey, too spa-like, or too.. well.. what we call "fantasy rain."

I took my time and read all the reviews for this one. The positive reviews filled me with hope, but the negative reviews had me wondering if I was about to, again, waste money on yet another failed petrichor fragrance. I almost let the small amount of negative reviews deter me from trying this one... almost.

I am a ridiculously happy that I brushed off the few negative reviews and purchased this petrichor scent! I am also, and honestly, now questioning HOW this oil even has reviews under 4 stars. Do the negative reviewers have broken noses? Are their olfactory sniffers malfunctioning? Have they ever truly took in a big whiff of that after-a-rainstorm smell? Perhaps they were expecting that "fantasy rain/earth" scent. But those fantasy rain scents are not authentic at all, it's not petrichor.

I'm from the Midwest, Indiana to be exact. I grew up in the country, near a small town. I have been in love with that after-the-rain/thunderstorm scent since I was a little girl. So, naturally, I've been very picky and particular about the petrichor fragrance I was searching for. I wanted rain, drenched dirt, wet grass and trees (NOT flowers), steamy sidewalks, and humid air (NOT spa-fresh ozone). And this delivered all those things, ten fold.

Pleeease do not be deterred by the few negative reviews like I almost was. There is absolutely NOTHING "moldy" or "decaying" about this fragrance. It boggles my mind how some people even came to that conclusion. Perhaps they are simply used to the "fantasy rain" scents.

From now on, this is the ONLY petrichor fragrance oil I will recommend.

I've been searching for a scent like this for so long and this exceeded my expectation. To be fair, it won't be everyone's cup of tea with it being very earthy. but I can't imagine not using this in many candles to come.

This fragrance is SO FUN to play with! I've already mixed it with half a dozen other fragrances. It makes everything smell like a forest or a cave. It takes you places.

Love this fragrance so much! Creates a light and airy after-rain effect which sets the mood for clean and crisp as well as moody themes. All of my clients love this fragrance. I blend it with multiple other fragrances depending on the mood I'm going for, but even on its own - it can hold its weight.

I made my favorite candle out of this with moonflower nectar for a 'Craig na Dun' inspired smell! (Outlander)
